Long Term Rides
Our bikes are frequently hired for lengthy periods and have
successfully ridden to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Exmouth and
many other regions that are mere hundreds of kilometres from our
location.
Here are some of the more travelled routes:
The scenic cycle route to Albany covers 827 kms of some of
Western Australia's finest sights and attractions.
Bike West has provided a basic map and About Bike Hire staff can provide
plenty of information.
A Cycling paradise!
The quality bikes at About Bike Hire give you an option to
hiring on Rottnest island. Our bikes can be taken on
the Ferries for a modest charge. A Hybrid bike is suitable for
most areas and can provide all the transportation you need for a
stay on the island.
About Bike Hire staff are always available to discuss cycling on
Rottnest Island.
100km+ one way on this lengthy coastal
ride
This ride is fast becoming one of the most popular routes and
travels alongside some of Perths most beautiful beaches from
the northern to the southern extremities of Perth.
Maps of part of the full length are available from About Bike
Hire.
100km+ A great training ride on the
North/South Freeway system
This path alongside the Kwinana Freeway is long, straight
and flat, ideal for road bike riders. Maps of part of the entirety
are available from About Bike Hire, however it is impossible to get
lost. A path with only a small number of diversions also leads
along the Mitchell Freeway.
Many country towns in Western Australie have developed cycle
trails. Our favourites include Boranup Forest near Karridale, the
Great Ocean Way in Esperance, Ellen Cove in Albany and the
Melaleuca Cycle Trail in Kalbarri.
Local tourist offices often carry maps or advice is free at
About Bike Hire
Western Australia generally provides a safe road riding
environment. The South-West corner in particular is often explored
by cyclists and information about the suitability of particular
roads for cycling is usually available at local Tourist
Bureau's.
Trips to the North and East can be
hazardous unless planned carefully.
About Bike Hire has several
experienced cyclists on staff who can provide useful information to
plan your trip, however we would recommend joining an organised
tour if any uncertainty at all exists.
